Rika Tanaka is a full-time Jikiden Reiki practitioner and Dai-Shihan teacher based in Ealing, London.

Originally from Japan, Rika has lived in the UK for over 25 years. She began her Jikiden Reiki journey in 2004 with Tadao Yamaguchi, the head of the Jikiden Reiki Institute in Kyoto, and has continued to study closely with the Institute ever since. In 2012, she was granted the Dai-Shihan level, allowing her to teach Jikiden Reiki up to Shihankaku, assistant teacher level.

Rika offers Shoden, Okuden and Shihankaku training, as well as hands-on and distance Reiki sessions. Her approach is gentle, attentive and grounded in many years of experience. She listens carefully to each person’s needs and offers Reiki with warmth, clarity and respect.

Rika is also actively involved in supporting the wider Jikiden Reiki community. She serves as a board member of the International Jikiden Reiki Association and as a representative of the Jikiden Reiki UK Association committee, with a heartfelt wish to connect and support teachers, practitioners and students.

With many years of experience as a full-time holistic therapist, Rika brings a compassionate and well-rounded approach to her work. Jikiden Reiki is her speciality and remains at the heart of both her practice and teaching.

Having grown up in Japan, Rika brings a deep understanding of the culture and original spirit behind Usui Reiki. She is passionate about sharing Jikiden Reiki in an authentic, clear and accessible way, in both English and Japanese.
